Momma Needs Some Sleep!

It has been a little over 2 weeks since I have been able to sleep the whole night through. It makes me more and more tired during the day, and I am beginning wonder if I will ever sleep a whole night through again!!! When I first got pregnant and wasn’t sleeping well, I just took Tylenol PM. It seemed to make me sleep well, but I didn’t really like taking it every night. I was afraid it would become addicting and I didn’t want to always have to have it. I also think it is what was causing my headaches during the day. Since I quit taking it at night, I haven’t had as many headaches during the day; however, I don’t sleep well at night. I am not even sure what wakes me up. But every time I wake up, I have to go to the bathroom, which wakes me up even more! I don’t think it is Rachel waking me up, my body just “wakes up.” Leaving me very tired the next morning and throughout the day. I imagine this is normal, but it’s really wearing me down. Does anybody have any suggestions that don’t include meds?!

Results Are Back

And I don't have gestational diabetes. I guess I wasn't really that worried that I did, just annoyed I had to go sit at the doctors office for 3 1/2 hours! But better safe then sorry, I guess! Everything is normal!

31 Weeks

It seems like I have been pregnant forever! But we are getting close. If I could just figure out a way to sleep through the night! :)

How your baby's growing:This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Dr. Appointment

I had another routine doctors appointment yesterday and have a few things to report. Rachel seems to be doing fine, big still, but fine. (at least according to measurements. She measured at just over 32 weeks and I and 31 weeks tomorrow) Her heart rate was at 140, which is always fun to hear. After my last appointment (2 weeks ago) I went to have the glucose screening done. I never heard back any results so I assumed no news is good news...WRONG! The first thing the nurse told me yesterday was that I didn't pass the one hour screening I had done a couple weeks prior. Not that it is a big deal; except it means that I have to go do a 3 hour one! And I thought the first was a painful waste of time! This time I am supposed to "fast" then have them take my blood, drink the nasty juice, wait an hour, have them take my blood again, wait another hour, take my blood again, wait another hour, and then take my blood one final time. So all together I will be there more than 3 hours! Anyone wanna go with me?! :) I have a feeling this is just a "better safe then sorry" test, because I really don't think I have the gestational diabetes, but we will see. I hope I don't anyways...

Well, other then that there wasn't much to report. I will post more info when I get the results.

Baby Showers

This past weekend we had our baby showers. The first was Saturday afternoon; it was thrown by my sisters. And the second was Sunday afternoon at church. Thanks to everyone involved with making these happen! They were wonderful! Below are some pics from the weekend. (There are a few more pics I need to post that I haven't gotten off my camera yet b/c the battery is dead. So there will be a few more hopefully in the next few days!)

Cruise 2008 (Post Long Overdue)

So this post is way "overdue," but I wanted to make sure I still posted about it. 3 weeks ago tomorrow Aunt Jennifer calls me and asks "What are you doing the rest of this week?" Me, thinking she means what am I doing in the evenings responds, "Well, I have class tonight, church tomorrow..." I didn't get any further then that when she said " No, you are going on a cruise with me and Jessica! We have to leave tonight!" Needless to say I was so excited, yet so surprised, I wasn't sure if it was real! But sure enough it was, and we drove to Houston all through the night to get there and get on the boat Wednesday afternoon. (after a long hunt for my birth certificate that we thought we weren't going to be able to find...just ask Daddy about that story!) :)

It was called "The Cruise to Nowhere" because we didn't port anywhere, we just said around in the ocean. A ton of fun and a great vacation for me before Rachel gets here. Wish Brett could have gone, but it was a great trip with Jennifer, Amanda, and THE BOSS. (aka: Jessica) :) Posted below are some pics of the spur of the moment trip!

I guess we'll still let her in the pic anyway

Daddy Gets Some Practice

Daddy got some practice with holding Cousin Kate the other day when we were at GGma's. I think he is going to do perfect when his baby girl gets here. What do you think? :)

Belly Pic

The last few days Rachel has been sitting out in front. Making me bigger and bigger! :)

The pic on the left was at 25 weeks and the pic on the right is at 30 weeks.

House Update

Last week the windows and doors were put in (except the sliding glass door) and now the kitchen bar and ledge to the stairs have been framed. When we went last night, some plumbing was done, and the siding for the outside of the house was stacked in the garage. So hopefully they will start that this week. Also we are doing the electrical walk-thru this afternoon! It is moving right along, but i don't know that it is "growing" quite as quickly as Rachel is! :)

30 Weeks

10 weeks to go!

How your baby's growing:Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face.

Foot Update

Just to let everyone know that my foot has gone back down to "semi-normal" size. They both seem to be a little swollen throughout the day, but nothing like the one was on Wednesday and Thursday of last week. It was absolutely crazy, not to mention disgusting! I don't know what was different then normal, but they seem to be fine now! :)

Swollen Feet!!

Or should I say swollen FOOT (singular)!! Yesterday my left foot was so swollen you couldn't see where my leg stopped and foot began. In other words I had NO ankle. My right foot was a little puffy, but nothing like the left! I kinda thought, "that is weird" but it seemed to get worse and worse. So I decided to prop my feet up with pillows last night while I slept. I think it helped a little, but there was no way I was wearing shoes today. I wore flip flops to work! (Which is a huge "no-no" because my office is in the production plant. But no one has said anything so far!!) What swelling that had gone down through the night is back, I just don't understand why it is mostly in my left foot and leg. My left lower leg (calf... sp?) is even swollen. It is just crazy! I guess better to have 1 fat leg then 2! :)
Check out the pics below. I took these about 10 minutes ago!

"Swelling, swelling go away, come again another day!" :)

Cousin Kate is Here!

Kate Lynn Prindle was born Monday, September 8th @ 12:26pm. She weighed 8lbs 13 oz and was 19 1/2 in long! We are all very excited! :)

29 Weeks

Only 11 more weeks to go! :)

How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

House Update

The house seems to be "rolling!" They have all the walls up, the main floor framed and have started on the roof! The pictures below were taken yesterday afternoon! (09/09/2008) It is actually starting to look like a house! :)
