15 Weeks

And we are an apple! We keep getting bigger! See the info below from babycenter.com.

How your baby's growing:Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

Another Doctor's Appointment

We had another monthly doctors appointment yesterday. Daddy and I were both glad to know everything is going great. Dr. Cox said I was right on schedule for my growing size. My belly is growing, but still no weight gain. ( I actually lost a pound.) We also got to hear the heartbeat again! It was neat to hear, but was even more neat to see Daddy's eyes "light up" as the doppler finally found the heartbeat! (Baby was playing hide and seek yesterday. It took a while to find the heartbeat.) I love to see him be so excited!! :)

At my next appointment, scheduled for July 7th, we plan to have the sonogram to see if we are having a boy or a girl. Earlier on, the doctor said the sonogram would be between 16 and 18 weeks. When she noticed how close my next appointment would be to 18 weeks, she tried to schedule them at the same time. I was hoping to have the sonogram closer to 16 weeks, but I guess the longer we wait, the better the chances are of for sure knowing the gender! we can't wait.

All Moved Out!

Daddy and I finally got to move out the house we have lived in for the past 2 years. We closed on our first home the day before we got married...it is amazing how much junk we have!! You don't realize how much there is, until you try to move it all to a storage unit!!! Thanks to Gma/Gpa Skiles, Gma/Gpa Oakley, Uncle Cole and Aunt Jennifer (and of course Brennan!!), Uncle Justin and Aunt Krista, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Joshua, and the entire Harrold family, we were able to move! It only took us a period of 5 days!!! With everyone's help over the 5 days we finally got everything out of the house. Thank you everyone!!

As far as plans for the new place...we put a contract on a lot in Goddard to begin the building process!! How fun!! We are really looking forward to it. We will be very close to Uncle Cole, Aunt Jennifer, and Brennan! there is also another couple from church that lives in the area. Not to mention we will only be a few miles from Gma/Gpa Oakley!!! We are looking forward to the coming events, although they will take lots of time. The plan for the house is to be built by November 30th. As many of you know "Baby" is due November 27th, so we are working with the builder to get it moved up as much as possible. they said there was no guarantees, we would just have to see how it goes! Maybe they will get the house done a few weeks early...we'll see.

In the meantime we are staying with GGma and GGpa. It seems to be working out so far Our 3 little dogs, they love the fenced in back yard! We hope everything flows smoothly as we hibernate there for the 6 months. It seems to be great so far!I also get to spend more time talking with GGma!!! :)

Well, I guess I will close. Just wanted to let you all know of the hectic weekend! i hope everyone had a good weekend, and has a wonderful upcoming week!! :)

14 Weeks

We are a growing lemon! See the info below from babycenter.com about the 14th week of pregnancy!

How your baby's growing:This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Our Little Shrimp!!!

Well, actually our "medium size shrimp." Hope he/she isn't a shrimp for long! See the info from babycenter.com about the 13 week of pregnancy.

How your baby's growing:Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is Daddy and I's 2nd Anniversary. It's hard to believe all the events that have taken place in the past 2 years!! For instance...we closed on our first house on May 19th, 2006 and then got married on May 20th...We are now celebrating our 2nd anniversary, selling our house (closing is May 30th), and expecting the Little One in November. God has truly blessed us!!! :) It has all just happened way too fast. Below is a picture of us on our wedding day...Happily Ever After! :)

The Castle Inn at Riverside

(Once again , this is a post about Mommy and Daddy, not Baby Skiles...) This past Friday night, to celebrate our second anniversary, we stayed at the Castle Inn at Riverside. This is the same place we stayed at on our Wedding night, only we stayed in a different room this time. It was a very fun, "romantic" evening. We can't believe 2 years have already past!!! The Castle was better than I remembered it. Posted below are some pics of our stay!!!
