Let The Shopping Begin!

Last night Mommy and Daddy needed to run some errands, so while we were out we just "HAD" to stop by Old Navy. This was the first shopping trip since we found out we were having a GIRL! There are so many things out there! It seemed we were in Old Navy forever; and Daddy didn't even mind! (usually he hates going shopping with me!) He actually picked out some of the outfits. He also said when we go back in the car after Old Navy... "I like shopping for our baby. " With that comment, we went right on to Babies R Us and sent about an hour there too! The fun is really starting to begin, and I'm glad and blessed that Daddy is here to share the time with me!

Below is a pic of the outfits we bought last night. (the green shorts and orange shirt that says 'Beach or Bust' was Daddy's favorite!)

Week 18

A bell pepper! We are getting close to half way!

How your baby's growing:Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin, and her ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from her head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place.

We Have More Than Just Healthy...

We have a healthy BABY GIRL!! We had another sonogram done yesterday so we were able to determine the gender. I thought from the very beginning it would be a girl, as so many of my family members did as well. Daddy hoped for a boy, but yesterday showed no signs of being disappointed. It was actually his idea to go register for "girl stuff" after we got home from the sonogram! I don't know how many times he said, "I'm just so excited!" Which made me feel wonderful, because I feared he would be a little upset he didn't get his boy. But he loves his BABY GIRL, we both do!! It is so wonderful to be able to say "she"for sure!!! :)

For those of you who are wondering about names...we have 2 we are choosing from: Caedence or Lana (Pronounced Law-na) with Reece as the middle name either way. We probably won't decide for sure until we get to see her, but narrowing it down to 2 names gives you an idea!

Well, on to the pictures! We had the sonogram done at Baby Waves, but it is just the 2D one for now. We have the 3D-4D scheduled for August 23rd. But for now her are the ones we had done yesterday!

And Daddy Feels Baby!!

Last night we went to Uncle Joshua's baseball game. (Which they won, Go Cobras!!) After the game went to Gma/Gpa Oakley's for sloppy joes and macaroni and cheese! As we were waiting to eat, I was relaxing on the couch. (I was kinda uncomfortable yesterday!) As I laid there, I felt Baby start to move around. I quickly called for Daddy to come right away! He came and after about 3 minutes of pushing around on my belly, he/she finally pushed back! Daddy was very excited, and once again, I was more thrilled to see Daddy's reaction more than anything! Like I always say, the experiences just keep getting better. I can only imagine what it will be like when he/she gets here! :)

17 weeks

A turnip. Info from babycenter.com is below. We will see how accurate "general" measurements are on Thursday! We have another sonogram on Thursday! I will post pics when I have them!

How your baby's growing:Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Flutters, Flutters, and More Flutters!!!

Baby hasn't been playing as much kung fu yesterday and today, but he/she is definitely moving around in there! I feel flutters fairly often, while sitting at my desk! The experiences just keep getting better! :)

Yesterday when Daddy was taking "belly pictures" of me, Aunt Krista was at the house. We took a picture together! She and Kate are growing too! :)
