Daddy Found A Job!

Yea!!! Daddy has been unemployed since February 1st. He has been Mr. Mom since then...until today that is. He was offered a job installing and repairing Direct TV. He is in training for the next 4 weeks, and then everything should be ready to go! Whoo-hooo!For those of you who don't the know, I was laid off at the end of January too. My last day will be Friday. His job offer couldn't have come at a better time. I was starting to get very stressed about both of us being jobless at the end of this month. Just when you think you are at the end of your rope, God steps in and leads the way! I guess everything is on His time, not ours.

"Talking" Video

Rachel likes to have conversations with us in the evenings before sh goes to bed. Lots of times when we get the camera she is distracted, but the other night she didn't hold back at all! She jabbered on and on. Daddy says she takes after her Momma!

Do I Look Like GGpa?

I got Rachel up from her nap Saturday and started just snapping pictures. I didn't really look at them until I got them on the computer. I saw the pic below and thought "this looks familiar" but didn't really know why. Then it hit me...this is what GGpa looks like when he wakes up from his naps on the couch! Bhahahahaha!

Macy See, Macy Do

I know it seems like I post a lot about Macy, but we just think it is hilarious. She does anything she can to try to be exactly like Rachel. She ha to be in the middle of everything too! This afternoon when Rachel was taking a nap, we couldn't find Macy anywhere. Come to find out, she had followed me into the bedroom and decided to stay in there while Rachel took her nap. She was laying by the door as usual, only this time on the inside! She is just nuts! In the pics below (1st pic) we laid Rachel down on her back...as you can see Macy rolled over on her back. (2nd pic) Daddy was holding Rachel...Macy climbed up to join them to! I think its incredible how Macy does this stuff on her own! We don't "place" her at all! Hilarious!

Another Trip To The Zoo

Momma took another 1/2 day off work to go to the zoo. It was 80 degrees! What a beautiful day!

Visit to Great Granny and Great Gpa Roy's

Monday night Rachel and Momma went to visit Great-Granny and Great-Gpa Roy with Aunt Krista, Kate and Brennan. We had another wonderful visit!

Cousin Brennan's Slide

All three Kansas cousins were over at Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Cole's house the other day and played for a few minutes on Brennan's slide.

"Sleeping Beauty"

Rachel really enjoys getting her beauty sleepy. She sleeps an average of 12 hours at night (14 hours being her longest record) and then takes several naps during the day. We are so fortunate! Gma Oakley likes to take the credit for Rachel being such a good little sleeper. She is the one who convinced Momma to let her sleep on her belly. Gma really thinks "belly sleeping" is better, and at this point I definitely agree! Here she is in her bed taking an afternoon nap.

Saturday Wedding

Saturday was Jonathan and Mandy's wedding. (Jonathan is Momma's cousin) It was a beautiful day. Nice and warm, makes up for the past few days that have been freezing!

Afternoon with GGma

On Friday Rachel went over to GGma's house for a couple hours before her doctor appointment. Cousin Kate was there too. This is what Momma saw when she walked in the door to pick Rachel up!

4 Months

It is hard to believe Rachel is already 4 months! Where has time gone?! We went to see Dr. Jeff for er 4 month appointment and shots. She weighed 13 pounds 6 oz (60th percentile) and was 24.5 inches long (80th percentile). Her head measured large again, but instead of the 100th percentile, it was only the 95th this time! I guess we're making progress! Her shots seem to be a little harder on her this time then last. She's pretty fussy tonight, but I am sure she will be fine in a couple days. She's a trooper!

First Time With Cereal

Wednesday night was the first time we tried cereal with Rachel. She wasn't thrilled to be taking it from Momma. But when Gma Oakley came over Thursday night, she gobbled it right up!

Saturday With Gma Skiles and Aunt Monica

Last Saturday while Daddy and Gpa Skiles went to the KU/TX game Momma, Rachel, Gma Skiles and Aunt Monica spent some time together. We went to the home and garden show and the spent the evening relaxing at the house. What a fun day!

First Trip to the Zoo

Momma took a 1/2 day of work today and bought a zoo membership. Momma, Daddy, Rachel, GGma, Aunt Krista ad Cousin Kate went to the zoo for a couple hours. She had fun for the short time she stayed awake!

Wednsday night was Rachel's first official time in Bible class. She set at the table like a big girl!

Macy just loves Rachel. She tries to get as close as possible to her all the time. Even if there is a door that separates them. We laid Rachel down for a nap on Saturday and guess who was waiting outside her door...

Uncle Cole's Birthday Party

Sunday night we went to Gma and Gpa Oakley's house to celebrate Uncle Cole's birthday. Rachel loves him very much! Happy Birthday Uncle Cole!
